Black and White Softcovers
The proof arrived and it's GOOD GOOD GOOD! GOOOOOO!!!!

Color Softcover Replacements: Update - Option 2
The vote was for Option 2 in the color softcover replacement poll, so I'm working on that. Currently, the only email addresses I have are for the one from Kickstarter, which I realized late might be different from your Drivethru account. Drivethru is going to run a query, and I'll be emailing you if I need your DriveThru account email.
If your DriveThruRPG email is not the same as your Kickstarter email, please contact me so I can update the spreadsheet pro-actively.
The books to sign are here and I'm getting out my trusty sharpies to get to work! Each one will include not just a signature, but some customization as well, so it'll take a little time to get them done.
Personal Note and Thanks
Thanks again for everyone's patience. I've been sick with colds, the flu, and what I'm pretty sure is bronchitis at this point, more or less constantly since the day after Thanksgiving, so sometimes, it takes me a little longer to get things done.

Softcover Color Books - (incoherent screaming)
Well, I had a lot of not-great news going back and forth between me, DriveThruRPG, and Lightning Source over the last month, and I will spare you all the drama.
We are at a point now where DriveThru has agreed to replace or refund the books-- and let me tell you, they are going above and beyond to do so. However, we have two options, and once we decide which option is best, it applies to everyone.
With either option, the bulk run would happen now and anyone who hadn't sent in a photo would contact DriveThru directly later. The option chosen would apply to those latecomers as well.
Option 1: DriveThru will bulk replace all the ones for which I received a photo confirming it was defective, without having to go back and contact people.
Option 2: DriveThru will issue a refund for all the books for which I received a photo confirming it was defective. This refund would show up as store credit in your DriveThru account (based on your kickstarter email address), and you would be able to spend it on Threadbare (you'll also get a coupon to be able to buy Threadbare at cost, so again, there would be no cost to you), or if you decide you like the book as-is, you could spend it on anything in DriveThru's catalog.
Personally, I think Option 2 is more elegant and gives you more control over your replacement options. But I want to put it here for a vote, since you've all been incredibly kind and patient about this whole mess.
I know there is a small handful of people who are vehemently opposed to buying from DriveThruRPG; if that's you, and you'd still like a replacement book, but don't want to go through that process, we can make an alternate arrangement.
If you are a Softcover Color (Softie Adventure) backer, please vote in the comments: Option 1 or Option 2. I'll tally the results next Thursday and give DriveThruRPG a response by the end of next week. (If you are a pre-order customer reading this, please send me a message through Backerkit or Kickstarter with your vote!)
Black and White Books: New Proof
Not much to report here. The black and white file has been approved and I've ordered another round of proofs, which should get here in a week or two. I'm really hoping the proof will be good and we'll be ready to go.
Hardcover Books: The End is Near
I'm almost done with the hardcover book orders. As I've placed the order, I've marked your books as "Shipped" in Backerkit, which means you get a notification. The books have trickled out slowly over the past 2 weeks, and early reports from those who have received them are great!
Signed Books: You're Next!
For those of you who ordered signed books and have been waiting patiently-- thank you for waiting! I'll be ordering the copies to sign in the next week or so. If you need to update your mailing address, let me know and I will unlock your backerkit survey so you can change it.
Hardcovers Heading Out! Please report in!

The hardcover books are heading out in batches! As they get ordered, you might receive an email notifying you that they've shipped (and I'm updating Backerkit as well, so you can see if yours has been ordered as well). The DriveThru receipt can be a little confusing-- it implies that you owe money for the book. You do not owe money for the book. You already paid for it-- the receipt is just letting you know that.
When you get your hardcover book, I would really, really appreciate you taking a look and making sure it looks good-- page numbers are all there, etc. If it doesn't, email or contact me immediately through Kickstarter or Backerkit to let me know! One of the reasons I'm sending the books in batches is to make sure if there's an error, we catch it early.
The softcover book replacement request has been submitted and I'm in talks with DriveThru to get that taken care of. I'll keep you posted.

Proofs are In! UPDATE!
- The Color Softcover proof looks good, so I've submitted the replacement request! From now on, if you want your book replaced, you'll need to contact DriveThruRPG directly here: https://support.drivethrurpg.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
- The Color Hardcover book looks good! I will be ordering them in batches of about 5 every 2-3 days, so that if there are sudden printing problems, they won't affect a whole bunch of books! (I do learn!) If you backed for a hardcover book and your address has changed in Backerkit, please contact me to fix it!
- The Black and White Softcover books.... have page trim issues. Bill and I will figure out what happened and do another round of proofs for it. I'll keep you posted.
Book Printing: Where are we? (POLL!)

I generally try to order proofs in groups. There are three ways to ship from DTRP: Media (3 weeks), expedited (<1 week), or overnight. I usually upgrade the shipping to expedited when I place a proof so that the books will get here quickly. I am ever the optimist, thinking I can get these books to you in a timely manner.
So, when the hardcover is "submitted to the printer," meaning it can be a couple of days, and the black and white is "waiting for an updated file," I have to decide whether to wait for an updated file before printing a proof. It costs about $25 to expedite the shipping, but it costs $25 to order one book or two when expedited, so splitting the order is less cost effective.
Meanwhile, in color softcover land, I have to decide if the back cover art bleed is worth worrying about:
You probably don't care, and you just want your book. Perfect is the enemy of done, after all. I can put the bulk order in NOW and your replacement books will look like this.
So, quick spot poll (particularly for those who have sent in your bulk replacement requests): Do you care enough for me to delay the color softcover replacement order by another 2 weeks (about a week to get files approved and the proof ordered)?
